Departing your hotel your guide heads out to the magical Wai-O-Tapu thermal wonderland. We continue through this amazing park to view colourful hotsprings, pools and geysers before visiting the famous Lady Knox Geyser. From Wai-O-tapu we head to the awesome Waimangu Volcanic Valley. Waimangu is internationally recognised as the only current New Zealand exampled of a Bio System re-establishing, following complete devastation.

In 1886, Mount Tarawera in Rotorua erupted, and destroyed the surrounding area. The eruption opened the earth along a 17km line, splitting Mount Tarawera in two, exploding Lake Rotomahana to 20 times its original size, and forming the seven craters that today make up the Waimangu Volcanic Valley. The lake covers 15 craters and gives you the chance to view awesome geothermal sights, which can only be seen from the boat.

Our tour continues with a visit to the Blue and Green Lakes on our way to Lake Tarawera for lunch at the beautiful Landing Restaurant. Complement a relaxing lunch while enjoying beautiful views of the lake.

On arrival back into Rotorua we have time to view the wonderful city garden and the shore at Lake Rotorua before dropping you back off at your hotel.
